Rather than purchase brand-new equipment for cooking outdoors, I like to recycle old favorites and keep them in the “camp-out corner” of the garage for instant summer getaways. Old pots and pans, slightly split cutting boards, silverware that has been chewed on by the garbage disposal, and battered old knives all get placed in a special corner, along with other accouterments such as camp stove and bug repellent.
